I was very impressed with a firm I met with in Montreal this past week:

  • They are seen as a partner with their customers, not merely a vendor
  • They see pressures to drive down their costs as an opportunity to innovate and increase their ability to compete
  • The owners are fully-engaged and passionate about their business
  • They are flexible and agile in overcoming supply chain problems for their customers going the extra mile as they pick up the slack at the end of the process
  • They have a great in-house I.T. function that is pragmatic and helpful in meeting business needs
  • There is a strong emphasis on quality and “getting it right the first time”–rework undermines efficiencies and margins
  • Their employee attrition rate is negligible
  • The company has done a great job of thinking through every aspect of their business process and flow to increase efficiency so they can offer lower costs
  • The company efficiently deals with low volume/high mix–lots of variety

Does this sound like the attributes of your business? It reminds me of the text from my “why” video:

  • Ease and simplicity replace frustration and complexity.
  • People, processes and systems seamlessly and tightly connect my clients and their teams to their customers and partners.
  • They become sought after by prospects, customers, potential employees and investors.
  • Revenues and profits soar.
  • Business is exciting again.
